The village and surrounding area

La Lavoirs (The wash house) in the village, with beautiful walks along the river   The village lies on the sacred roman pathway between Poitiers and Saints   Wonderful walks can be taken along the river Sompteuese
The Church of Saint-Médard in the village   La Barbette, a few minutes walk, has games for the children as well as good walks   There are many lakes in the area. This one has supervised swimming and other activities in the summer
The local chateau, with walks around the grounds and lake   There are markets in all the local towns and villages selling lots of fresh produce and gifts   There are local bars and restaurants to keep you fed and watered
The beaches at nearby Royan are perfect for games, or just chilling by the sea!!   La Vallée des Singes is a great day out for all ages   The local town of Melle has lots to see and explore, including the local silver mines
